My Story

When my marriage ended very suddenly in 2008, it felt like the end of the world.  I had no idea what to do.  We had two small children, and I found myself facing an uncertain future.  Over the following days, weeks and months, I experienced a roller coaster of raw emotions – including anger, fear, hurt, confusion, panic, shock, sadness.  I felt overwhelmed at times, and the first few weeks are a blur, even now.  At first, I felt as though the separation and divorce was happening to me, that I was no longer in control.  However, I realised I didn't want to be a victim of divorce.  I did not want my divorce to define me, and I wanted to feel happy again.  I wanted to do more than simply survive; I wanted to rediscover who I was, and create a new life in which I and my children could fly.

I came to see that my divorce was actually a fantastic opportunity to redefine myself, learn more about who I am, and create a new and shiny future, with me in control of my life -  like a dragonfly emerging from its shell, to soar with outstretched wings shimmering in the sun.  I have rebuilt my life from scratch, and on the way, I have found more inner confidence and strength than I ever believed possible.  My children are settled and happy, and I am immensely proud of how I handled my separation and divorce.

The night my marriage ended was a turning point in my life - it was the night I began to wake up, and it was the catalyst that has led me to where I am now.  I don’t want anyone else to have to go through this alone. I want to help you to find the opportunities your break up gives you, so that you too can feel proud when you look back.

This is why I am passionate about helping others to travel their own path to happiness after divorce.

You too have the power to rediscover who you are, spread your wings and soar.

My Mission

When I got divorced, there was very little guidance out there, and no divorce coach to guide me. My mission is to help you handle the emotional minefield of divorce, and avoid the pitfalls I fell into, so that you can reconnect with your inner spark, and ultimately create the brilliant life you want.

My Philosophy

It’s not what happens to you that makes the difference; it’s what you do with what happens to you.
I believe that we all have the power to redefine ourselves, and create our own bright future.  Key to my approach is my attitude to change and uncertainty.  I believe that wherever there is change in our lives, however painful, there is opportunity – to grow, to learn, to take a different perspective, and to enrich life.

My Experience

I bring all of my personal and professional experience to my work, so that I can be the very best coach I can be for you.

As well as being a divorcee and mother of two boys, I am also one of the UK’s first accredited Break up and Divorce Coaches, an NLP Master Practitioner, and former lawyer.

As Carl Jung said:

I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become

You too hold the power to change your life.  You, and only you, can effect these changes by consciously taking control of your life and your future.
It’s simple, but it isn’t easy.  You must be ready for change, and be open to making new and different choices.  It will be worth it.  You have the rest of your life ahead of you, ready for the taking.  You will be able to create a vibrant life that you love.

Claire did some amazing transformational coaching with me and enabled me to see my situation from a different perspective, which I am already experiencing the benefits of. Claire brings empathy, compassion and clarity to her coaching work, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who is wanting to make changes in their life. Claire is a gifted coach.

Personal

I'm a very positive person, with an optimistic outlook.  I'm very active, and I love to ski, cycle and walk with my family and our gorgeous dog, Oscar.  I enjoy dancing, and dance Le Roc (modern jive) with my husband.  I love to travel to see new and beautiful places, and experience different cultures, histories and cuisines.  So far my favourites have been Australia, Peru and Egypt, and I have a long bucket list of places I would like to visit.  I enjoy reading fiction, and I practice mindfulness when I can.
